Nature’s Remedies For Acne And You: Clear Skin The Old-fashioned Way

Almost all teenagers undergo the agonies of bad skin. 89% of teenagers, in fact. Though acne decreases greatly once a person gets through their teen years and hormones tend to settle down, some adults can still be seriously affected. And what is one to do if one has sensitive skin that cannot use over-the-counter creams? Read below for some natural remedies for acne.

Your cleanliness and what you eat are two large components. Skin must be cleaned, since oil and grease clog up pores. Take a shower and wash your hair at least once a day and you won’t have anything to worry about on the hygiene front. Food is a more complex problem because each person reacts differently. However, it is safe to say that bad food breeds bad health and bad skin. Too much sugar or carbohydrates have been linked to skin problems, whereas water and fresh produce can clear skin.

Stress is another component; a long period of de-stressing is a good natural remedy to start to clear your skin. Though this may not be completely useful for chronic conditions, it will certainly help. A very old remedy for acne is sulphur-based cleaners. Sulphur has great medical properties and is safe to use. Zinc also works.

Aloe Vera and tea tree oil can reduce the swelling of your skin and make acne appear smaller and less red. Sunshine is another debatable remedy–but wear sunscreen! A good, healthy sweat can clear skin by pushing oil and dirt from clogged pores. This only works if the sweat is cleaned right off after! Exercise is good for skin in general, since it helps circulation.

That said, there are few natural cures for chronic acne. If you need something long-term and very potent, you must contact a dermatologist. They can not only give you natural tips to help, but they can give you medications or scrubs that will actually cure and prevent acne.

There are myriad solutions if you look in the right place. Creams, scrubs, and medications–in combination or alone–can be put together to help your specific skin type. The problem is that acne can be a hormonal or hereditary problem which is not cured by natural remedies; medication is needed. It is nothing to be embarrassed about, however, since almost all people suffer through it at some point in their lives.

You would need something much more hard-hitting, meaning a medication. There have been numerous advances and break-throughs in this field; you don’t have to suffer through skin complaints when there are safe options that can be tailored to fit you. The only way to know what is right for you is to contact a doctor. A few imperfections on a surface as large as the skin are to be expected over the course of a person’s life, but that does not mean you have to suffer low self-esteem because of it.
